As my friend continued examining the object, its strange mechanical behavior became even more noticeable. Every time he gently rotated it or tapped a specific spot, a faint clicking sound repeated from inside, almost as if something were locked within a hidden chamber.
Curiosity soon turned into obsession. He placed it under a stronger light and noticed something he hadn’t seen before—the circular engraved pattern wasn’t just decoration. It was actually aligned with tiny grooves that suggested movement, as if parts of the metal were designed to shift under pressure.
He carefully tried pressing different points.
Nothing.
Then, by accident, he pressed the exact center of the circular pattern while turning it slightly.
A sharp metallic click echoed through the room.
The object didn’t open, but something had changed.
A thin seam that had previously been invisible now became slightly visible around the edge, as if a hidden section had loosened after decades of being stuck.
He froze.
