Three Science-Backed Benefits for Vascular Health
1. Complete Protein for Metabolic Health
A single large boiled egg provides about 6 grams of high-quality protein containing all nine essential amino acids. Protein supports muscle maintenance and can contribute to satiety and healthy weight management, which are important components of cardiovascular health.
2. Nutrients That Support Overall Health
Choline: Eggs are an excellent source of choline, an essential nutrient involved in normal cell function, nerve signaling, and lipid metabolism. Choline also participates in pathways involved in homocysteine metabolism, although that does not mean eating eggs directly lowers cardiovascular risk.

The body’s cholesterol metabolism is complex, and it can adjust its own cholesterol production in response to dietary intake. The 2020–2025 U.S. Dietary Guidelines did not set a specific daily numerical limit for dietary cholesterol, instead emphasizing overall healthy dietary patterns.
That said, this does not mean that dietary cholesterol is irrelevant for everyone. Individual responses vary, and the amount of saturated fat and other foods consumed alongside eggs also matters.
