🔍 How to Solve the Mystery Using Your Photos
Since you already have close-up photos, you can play detective without getting any closer to the objects.
Zoom in on the texture:Â Look closely at the photos. Do they have tiny pores that are difficult to see with the naked eye? Bird and reptile eggs have porous shells that allow gas exchange. Do they look slightly translucent, or are they completely opaque and solid white?
Check for a seam:Â Gecko and lizard eggs can sometimes have a faint seam or slightly uneven texture, unlike the smooth, hard shell of many bird eggs.
Scan the room: Use a bright flashlight to look under the bed, behind the headboard, and in the corners of the room. If it’s a gecko, you might spot the adult nearby. If it’s a snail, look for a silvery slime trail.
